History in the Making: Zimbabwe Lacrosse Drops Sticks at Our First-Ever Clinic!

ZZimbabwe Lacrosse hosted its first-ever clinic in December 2024, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! Set out to make an impact—and together, we achieved something truly special.

Led by Zimbabwe Lacrosse ambassadors Tariro and Tapiwa Kandemiri alongside ZLA President Sichelesile Ndlovu, the event took place at the Luveve FIFA five-a-side turf in Bulawayo. What started as a coaching session quickly caught the attention of the local community. One by one, curious onlookers grabbed sticks, joined the drills, and transformed the clinic into a lively day of learning, laughter, and play.

The atmosphere was electric—filled with excitement, teamwork, and the joy of discovering something new. This clinic didn’t just introduce lacrosse to Bulawayo; it brought people together and sparked a movement to grow the sport across Zimbabwe.

Leading this charge is Sichelesile Ndlovu, President of the Zimbabwe Lacrosse Association, whose passion mirrors that of the late Ghanaian pioneer Rufus Ntiamoah.

“I was inspired by Rufus. His passion for the game resonated with me. As we discussed how to grow the sport in Africa, I was moved by his vision of making lacrosse a mainstream sport. Our mission is to make lacrosse attractive and safe for everyone in Zimbabwe, and we’re seeking guidance from those who’ve played the sport before us,” said Ndlovu.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible—your passion, support, and commitment are the driving forces behind this success. This is just the beginning for lacrosse in Zimbabwe!
