One Year of teaching Lacrosse in Zimbabwe: Celebrating with Clinics in Harare & Bulawayo

2025 marked a major milestone for Zimbabwe Lacrosse—one full year of teaching, growing, and sharing the game of lacrosse across Zimbabwe.

To celebrate our one-year anniversary, we returned where we started and hosted two special clinics in Harare and Bulawayo, bringing together players, coaches, and community members who have been part of this journey from the very beginning.

Over the course of the clinics, athletes were introduced to the fundamentals of lacrosse, including stick skills, passing, catching, footwork, teamwork, and game concepts. For many participants, this was their first exposure to the sport. For others, it was a powerful continuation of a program that has been steadily growing through consistent teaching, mentorship, and community support.

Beyond skills and drills, these clinics represented something deeper. They were a celebration of commitment, resilience, and belief—proof that with dedication and opportunity, young athletes in Zimbabwe can learn, compete, and dream on a global stage. From Harare to Bulawayo, the energy, curiosity, and joy on the field reminded us exactly why this work matters.

We are incredibly grateful to the local coaches, volunteers, families, and players who welcomed us and made these clinics possible. One year in, we are just getting started. As we look ahead, our focus remains on expanding access, developing local coaching capacity, and creating sustainable pathways for youth through sport.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Zimbabwe Lacrosse over the past year. We are excited for what’s next—and we can’t wait to keep building together.
